Sears turns state witness

The second of eight corporations indicted in the DeLay-related state fundraising scandal agreed to cooperate with the District Attorney investigation: SEARS.

The agreement calls for Sears to cooperate with Texas "in its prosecution and investigation of any other person for any offense related to the corporate contribution" that Sears made.

Emphasis mine. Bad news for DeLay.

  • It's a race to see if the GOoPers in the State Leg can change the rules in time to stop Earle. This man must be stopped before the truth comes out!

But can they do it and reverse Vo's victory too? All before the budget implodes? Tune in to see!

  • Today's NYT op-ed has this choice quote from Delay's former spokesman about his valued Native American, er, 'clients':

Even as the two fast-talking political brokers banked large profits for three years of minimal labor, it was found, they were exchanging gleeful private messages mocking tribal leaders as "morons," "troglodytes" and "monkeys." "I want all their MONEY!!!" Mr. Scanlon exuberantly e-mailed in the midst of one deal. Can't you just feel the love?
