0%: So much for caring for children, Tom

Tom DeLay cares about raising money from corporate fat cats for his two children's charities. But when it comes to putting his voting record where his wallet is, he comes up with a big ZERO, according to the Children's Defense Fund's new nonpartisan scorecard.

  • The following is a "Republican-crafted rhetorical conconction" I received from my congress person whom I recently wrote regarding the DeLay thing. Mr Kennedy is another ultra-religious neo-fascist, proponent & propagandist, alot like Tom DeLay, who, just like the republican-stacked committee who issued the final report, conveniently dismisses the latter's actions as mere misdemeanors, requiring an approporiate punishment where the culprit was forced to say "he was sorry" (but not necessarily that he would not do it all over again).

    Dear Mr. Holmbeck:

Thank you for contacting me about the recent Standards of Official Conduct Committee report on Representative Tom DeLay. I appreciate hearing from you.

I believe it is imperative that members of Congress be held accountable for their actions and comments. As the Standards of Official Conduct Committee report found, Representative DeLay's actions were not in line with high standards expected of House Members. As a result, the committee voted to admonish him in writing. I'm pleased that he has acknowledged the committee's findings and has accepted their verdict.

I want you to know that your thoughts and concerns are an important part of my decision making process, and I value your opinions. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. I hope you will continue to do so whenever there is anything I can do for you.

    Mark Kennedy
    Member of Congress
