DeLay scandals on Nightline tonight, guest is Bev Carter, tune in

ABC News' Nightline will have DeLay's hometown newspaper editor, Bev Carter of the Fort Bend Star, on tonight to discuss all of his transgressions.

I think Carter will be a fascinating guest. (I hope I'm not jinxing her!) She is a local Republican Party precinct chair who came out publicly to oppose him in 2004. Not just that, as I wrote in an October post, she signed an editorial explaining all her reasons (and there were many, many reasons) why she couldn't put party and Tom DeLay over principle. Carter withstood a local firestorm at the local party committee, which tried to oust her.

Tune in and watch. Check local listings.

(Thanks to reader Patricia for the tip.)

  • Bev Carter is a Republican In Name Only who has been known to lie about Republicans. She hates Tom DeLay and will say anything to hurt him. She thinks she is more important than she is and most people think her paper is a joke!

  • Bev is not a RINO, she's a True Believer. And she just peeves you Good Ol' Boys greatly because she's female and smarter than you. And probably can whup yer butt at poker as well. And anybody who knows him is gonna hate Tom most of the time, unless they're braindead or just as corrupt...which means they're a Fort Bend County male politician, most likely. (By the way, if Republicans in Fort Bend County want a better reputation, y'all need to learn to pay your bills as promptly as The Star does. Then the local business owners will quit laughing at you behind your backs.)
