Happy Birthday, Tom DeLay!
Anyone have any best wishes for the Majority Leader today for his 58th birthday? Click on "comments" below and leave your message!
I'll start off: May your retirement be longer, and start earlier, than you planned.
UPDATE: We're nearing 25,000 citizens demanding Tom DeLay resign. Maybe that's a good present! If you haven't signed, do it as a birthday wish to Mr. DeLay.
UPDATE II: As of 4:22 p.m., we had reached 24,232 signatures. Less than 800 to go -- can we reach 25,000 by midnight? Maybe not, but a man like Tom DeLay probably celebrates all weekend, right? I'm sure he won't mind if we're a little late.

How about a class on basic American Civics...there is no overriding "constitutional authority over the courts" given to congress. He seems to think that there are only 2 1/2 brnaches of government.

Dear Mr. Delay -
The ability to do something is NOT enough reason to do it.
By
Anonymous, at 11:12 AM
There once was a man named Tom Delay...
Didn't have much to talk about
But had a lot to say.
Had no substance.
Distorted fact.
We want more than anything to see this guy sacked...

So, Mr. D
Take our advice
True American democracy
Comes at a price.
Don't bark at the wind
No arbitrary schism
You missed the boat
for communism

A 'culture of life'
when it suits you need
Makes a mockery of you that exceeds your greed.
Be careful when claiming God for your side
For ultimately you may not be happy with that 'holier-than-thou' ride.
Look in the mirror just one time more and ask yourself what you TRULY deplore
And if in your heart you can say with no doubt
That the constitution is over then it's TIME TO GET OUT!!!
By
Anonymous, at 11:25 AM
The fact that your father may have smacked you around
Gives you no right to throw TRUE values to the ground.
It's not by your words but rather by your deeds
That will prove how a person truly succeeds.
And so I regret to inform you, Delay
That your time for hatred has ended today!
By
Anonymous, at 11:31 AM
A culture of life for all the brain dead!
That is indeed what this idiot has said
But God forbid health care for those still alive
Why save the living when we can protect those who've died
By
Anonymous, at 11:37 AM
When up is now down
And inside is out
It seems to be time
To proffer some doubt
And so, my dear friends
I pose this to you
What should the people in a democracy do?
By
Anonymous, at 11:41 AM
Tell him to SHUT THE HELL UP and resign......

You cannot use logic for a guy who's insane
He's like a turkey that will drown in the rain
Watch as he hangs himself with more nasty words
He's doing just fine proving himself he's absurd
All the best tyrants collapse in the end allowing themselves to be their own worst of friends.

I think he would make an excellent president of Baylor University which he apparently got kicked out of as an undergraduate for drunken, abusive behavior. (Republican "family values")

Before the media and democrats attack Tom DeLay, do you think they should look at the ethics of their own party members first, starting with Harry Reid and his actions? Its still amazing how biased the media is these days. Oh well, it won't be long before they are bought out by Fox and replaced. At least then, liberals can feel the pain we have experienced for decades.

Why must liberals always talk about how intelligent and sophisticated they are. Must be an inferiority complex. The people on this blog are a bunch of losers anyway. Can't wait until the next election when Republicans increase their lead again!

I would like give Tom a disease that has the pain of the clap and can only be cured through stem cell research.
Oh and to the guy who thinks we act to "smarty pants." :
"AIDS can be passed through Tears and Sweat"- Tom Delay
Guess he shouldn't have taken that abstinence course! But he'll figure out the truth in prison.

Here's a can of RAID for Tom! It's obvious Mr DeLay's brain has been overexposed to the bugkilling potions he's been known to use! (Probably never used a mask because he wanted to show that the EPA was full of $#!T in wanting to regulate the stuff. One look at his face and one listen to his rhetoric proves him WRONG!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU FASCIST NAZI PIG!

Let's put him in with the GI's who were convicted for abuse of prisoners at Abu Grave in Iraq. Let them "soften him up" a little, ride the water board for a little while, and see if he might reveal who was responsible for outing Valerie Plame. Maybe he could tell us a little more about the Right Wing agenda to bankrupt the United States, shred the U.S. Constitution, and finish installing the permanent Bush dictatorship.

Great blog! I can't wait til Delay is gone, get him out! The only problem is he'll be replaced with another "clone." Hopefully Delay will last just long enough to bring down his entire party.

In matters of ethics and pay,
House Majority Whip Tom DeLay,
A seat once prestigious,
He's reduced to egregious.
That's why he shall (MUST!) Go Away.
By
Anonymous, at 12:42 AM
After a few emails alerting me of a comment that offended some, I removed it this morning... Not our standard practice, because the people who post here generally don't get too close to the line. I'd be remiss if I didn't say that there are other posts here that don't represent my views or the views of the organization, but I haven't received any complaints about them. Please keep your comments appropriate. I don't like removing people's comments -- we want to encourage participation -- but I will if I see inappropriate stuff.

Maybe we can Delay a new hood and robe. I hear there is a new line out.
This is scary stuff.
On Thursday, Tom DeLay was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a conference called “Confronting the Judicial War on Faith.” He had to cancel because of the Pope’s funeral but sent over a taped message praising the gathering. What sort of ideas were advocated at the conference? In today’s Washington Post, Dana Milbank describes a panel called “Remedies to Judicial Tyranny":
[L]awyer-author Edwin Vieira told the gathering that [Justice] Kennedy should be impeached because his philosophy, evidenced in his opinion striking down an anti-sodomy statute, “upholds Marxist, Leninist, satanic principles drawn from foreign law.”
Ominously, Vieira continued by saying his “bottom line” for dealing with the Supreme Court comes from Joseph Stalin. “He had a slogan, and it worked very well for him, whenever he ran into difficulty: ‘no man, no problem,’ ” Vieira said.
The full Stalin quote, for those who don’t recognize it, is “Death solves all problems: no man, no problem.”

Everybody is lying," Abramoff told a former colleague. There are e-mails and records that will implicate others, he said. He was noticeably caustic about House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. For years, nobody on Washington's K Street corridor was closer to DeLay than Abramoff. They were an unlikely duo. DeLay, a conservative Christian, and Abramoff, an Orthodox Jew, traveled the world together and golfed the finest courses. Abramoff raised hundreds of thousands for DeLay's political causes and hired DeLay's aides, or kicked them business, when they left his employ. But now DeLay, too, has problems—in part because of overseas trips allegedly paid for by Abramoff's clients. In response, DeLay and his aides have said repeatedly they were unaware of Abramoff's behind-the-scenes financing role. "Those S.O.B.s," Abramoff said last week about DeLay and his staffers, according to his luncheon companion. "DeLay knew everything. He knew all the details."
this is from april 18th issue of newsweek about to come out I guess... give the crook a striped suit for his birthday and an all expense paid trip for a nice long vacation to the BIG HOUSE...

would hate to see Tommy go, his conduct is worth more to Dems than anyone since "Fig" Newt Gingrich.
God I love 'em both!!
By

I agree, keep up the lying & thieving and the democrats will soon be in power again. Watch out Republicans, we are planning some horrible terrible torturous things for you. First we are going to educate your children, then we are going to provide them with health care. And then we will allow everybody to practice any religion they want, and finally we are going to provide them with essential social programs. Ha ha ha...oh, the devious things we have in mind.
Happy Birthday Tom...and to many more vacations for you (...up the river, maybe???)

Hit the road, Jack,
And don't come back.
You learned your hate
From the Lone Star State.
But righteous Texans
Would make corrections.
Too bad for you -
This you can't do.
So take a hike
You mumbling shrike
And go to hell -
You'll like it well.

The loggerhead shrike is a masked, hook-billed songbird known for its habit of impaling prey on thorns or barbed wire. This has earned the shrike another name, "butcher bird."

Almost forgot...
The song of loggerhead shrikes is an often repeated medley of low warbles and harsh, squeaky notes and phrases. The bird's call is a harsh "shack-shack."
