"The criminalization of conservative politics"

The Houston Chronicle reports on a letter that indicted former Majority Leader Tom DeLay sent to constituents this week in which he angrily claims that Democrats are practicing "politics of personal destruction."

Citing the recent spate of scandals in the nation's captital, DeLay writes: "What we're fighting is so much larger than a single court case or a single district attorney in Travis County. We are witnessing the criminalization of conservative politics."

DeLay goes on to attack prosecutor Ronnie Earle, saying: "Just because a rogue Democratic prosecutor doesn't agree with some political tactics doesn't make them illegal or even wrong. He has an opinion, but he doesn't make the law."

  • What a jerk! I hope this guy gets it in the rear in jail. For those of you who will undoubtedly and blindly rant about my comments think for a minute. The current republicans in office dont care about their base. They are using you and laughing with their lobbyist over drinks after 5:00pm. They spend the republicans money just as quickly as a democrat. These arseholes are brattocrats. This guy exemplifies the worst of the worst of the brattocrats. Keeping in the spirit of religion; Delay's mommy should not have sparred the rod. This brattocrat is definately a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum because he cant get his way. Screw the brattocrats in office right now!!! They are not true republicans.

  • Oh yeah, unlike you Delay he knows what the law is.

He doesn't write the fucking law for his cronies and conduits in other words. You deserve every bit of shit you get in jail, and you're going to get it, big time right alongside your little attorney friend and Scooter Libby plus Karl Rove.

Enjoy your arrogance while it lasts, Delay. Its over for Hammer.

  • He is at his best when he is righteously indignant, isn't he? I lved it when he compared himself with Terri Schiavo. And now that he's in danger of having his 'feeding tube' removed, his wrath is overflowing.

I love this site, and keep up with it daily. I have started a site featuring the 'lighter side' of Tom DeLay - I Love Tom Delay!, and if you need a break from the serious side, you are cordially invited to stop by.

  • Bill Maher was right. "The criminalization of ..." proves a direct fax link between the White House and Republican strategist and Fox News and the rest of talking head heaven.

  • What a pathetic display of whining. Bullies like DeLay always cry the loudest when the treatment they mete out to their opponents are returned in kind.
