Looking ahead
From a Daily DeLay reader:
I think that's a question for Texans for Public Justice or DriveDemocracy.org or other ensterprising researchers in Texas to answer.
It appears that the new indictment of Rep. DeLay on the much more serious charge of money laundering was based on new information that was provided to the Travis County District Attorney over the weekend.
I think that, if there is a cooperating witness, it is most likely one of the indicted corporations. Sears, for example, wasn't very pleased to be named in the first DeLay indictment.
Looking ahead, all of the judges on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals are elected Republicans. How many of them were first elected to the bench with the assistance of Karl Rove's political consulting firm?
I think that's a question for Texans for Public Justice or DriveDemocracy.org or other ensterprising researchers in Texas to answer.

I found it quite amusing when Delay was charged a second time. Corruption is rampant and ever more transparent in the Republican party. These right wing extremists are going to hell. They are going to pay the piper either way. Such despicable people, wake up America!

Are'nt Bush loyalists tired of defending Bush repeatedly over his continuous poor leadership desicions. These people have to be so closed minded to defend this moron, I don't know if many of them can think for themselves anymore.

The first comment:
I do not like Delay. I have never been a fan of the Hammer. As a moderate I am not attracted to opposing figures from either side:
But do you seriously think the second charge is because of his overwhelming corruption? I am not saying they could not present a case, but I found the first chrage a little confusing and vapid.

Wrong, the first, second and third charges are all going to stick.
Interview with the lawyer experts says so, because even if 2003 was when the law was enforced, it was in effect before then:

DeLay, Successor Blunt Swapped Donations
By JOHN SOLOMON and SHARON THEIMER, Associated Press Writers
1 hour, 10 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - Tom DeLay deliberately raised more money than he needed to throw parties at the 2000 presidential convention, then diverted some of the excess to longtime ally Roy Blunt through a series of donations that benefited both men's causes.

The White House is hiding Karl Rove - they know something's coming...
by John in DC - 10/05/2005 03:36:00 PM
I just talked to a source who told me that Karl Rove has been missing from a number of recent White House presidential events - events that he has ALWAYS attended in the past. For example, Rove was absent from yesterday's presidential press conference to promote Harriet Miers. These are the kind of events Rove ALWAYS attends, I'm told, yet of late he's been MIA each and every time

This doesn't fit the serious nature of your blog, but I thought your readers might appreciate it. (cross posted from my blog, witlist.blogspot.com):
U Can't Touch Me
(with apologies to MC Hammer and the late Rick James)
They call me The Hammer
and that's no lie
I beat on their heads until all they cry
I'm known
as the king of this House
they love my beats all the way to K Street
Them Donkeys
Looking for a way
To leave this motherf*ckin' House without DeLay
But soon
I'll be set free
On a legal tech-ni-cal-it-y
I told you homeboy
U can't touch me
oh-oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh
U can't touch me
oh-oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh
U can't touch me
Money here, money there
Y'ain't got no money y'ain't going nowhere
My green
It's nice and clean
I run it all through my laundry machine
Indicted? I'm excited
It's a Republican party and you're all invited
Reelected?
As expected
I got more laywers than Arnold got pecs
I told my MC Abramoff
You can't do time just for playing golf
Yo, that's word. Break it down
oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh
U can't touch me
oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh
U can't touch me
Stop. Hammer Time.
I comandeer a plane
The Democrats complain
They say I've gone insane
But then they know I've got them gamed
I've got absolute authority
To build a permanent majority
F*ck the ethics rules they pass
They all can kiss my ass
U can't touch me
[ chorus]
Wife and daughter on the payroll
Makes it all so nice
Daddy's in a coma
Pull the plug and don't think twice
Everybody moanin'
'Bout rule of law and justice
They just don't be knowin'
We'll keep stealing 'til they bust us
We're the GOP - just trust us
U can't touch me
(He's a supercrook, supercrook, he's supercrooked.....)
