New Blog. Come Visit.

We've moved the Daily DeLay entries over to a new blog today. At the new blog, you can read that which would normally be posted here, and much more.

Please join the conversation. We've just posted something about a potential investigation into DeLay's ARMPAC at the new site.

  • Looking forward to more of your blogging as the Delay tial circus starts bringing forth animals. Hey, I know less than you guys do about the prospects of Tom Delay, and it seems that an unsuccessful prosecution of him could backfire on those opposed to corruption and dirty tricks politics. So, here is my uncomfortable question: Does a corrupt politician facing a panel of judges ideologically in accord with him receive a fair trial? Specifically, is this panel of judges looking for a way to release Delay from trouble? What exactly are his propsects? There's something about Republican power on trial in front of a panel of seven Republican far-right judges that smacks of injustice. We shouldn't be tried by our friends for the same reason that killers aren't tried by theirs. As bloggers, you are better positioned to answer this than I. Would you please post some candid informed comment not on whether he is bad (he is), but rather on whether the charges brought against him will stick?

  • To these shit-brains, everything is politics. So don't be surprised how they want to try to get rid of "Delay's issues" or make it "go away"....

In the meantime, we have to make sure Ronnie Earle and the rest get the issues to stick right where they are. And bring the rest of Tom fucking Delay right into the gutter trash.....

  • Who the hell ever said that he was going to face "a panel of seven Republican far-right judges"? Are you over generalizing much? PLease note that not everyone in the Texas justtice system is "far-right"...I can only assume that you were sterotyping Texas a bit.

Please note that Ronnie Earl (prosecutor) is an outspoken Democrat and that the first judge DeLay ever faced (Perkins) in this mess was a previous Dem voter and a MoveOn contributor...who was by all accounts 'impartial' as a good judge should be.

Is your point that Tom DeLay can only get a fair trial if all republican sympathizers are removed? Cuz if you cut that out as criteria than all you have is a trial by fire lite by the Democratic spark. Everyone has there one personal politics.

  • Yes Tom Delay can only get a real trial if all sympathizers removed as Judges. Doesn't matter whether democrat or republican, because they are all tied to TRMPAC.

And the name is Ronald Earle.

  • David, I have really enjoyed this website, over the past 6 months it and MYDD have been my primary destination. I have been to the new website, but find it confusing and is not able to post a comment. I do not want to give out my email. How can I communicate?

As the 1st reply on this stated, the next several months of Delay are important. Pls update your stuff on Delay routinely- there was an excellent one by Rickey today (Go war eagle), but none in 7y days. 7days without dailydelay makes one week.

Please keep up the good work.

  • Ok? If you remove all republicans...and it remains true that everyone has their own personal politics....they how is it fair (ie democratic remember?) to have Delay tried only by Democratic sympathizers? Communist much? And don't bullshit me with some ideological collegiate crap about we need to appoint judges with 'true impartiality" because need I repeat that everyone, everyone has their own personal politics.

Oh..yes,...and Democrat, Republican or Kinky Friedman, its fucking 'Ronnie' Earle. Its how we do things down here in Texas...informal and cool. Its why we are so successful as a state. Its the whole Willie Nelson vibe. And if you were from here instead of some insignificant uptight coastal state you'd know that asshole.

  • NO. Delay should be tried by independent judges period on the whole case.

And judges from both parties when the jury verdict is reached.
