In return they were impressed into forced labor and not paid a decent wage and required to live in encampments on this island. When DeLay was favored with the free trip to the encampment and proclaimed that 'this was what American free enterprise was all about' he was smacking American workers in his own District in the face as they watched their jobs get shipped overseas to operations like the one that DeLay was praising.
