I called from Massachusetts and got through both time, once to Mollohan's answering machine where I left a brief message urging an impartial investigation and the other time to a secretary at Hasting's office where I said the same and bless him too. I called from Oregon and got live people in both offices (Hastings in Pasco, WA and Mollohan in DC), despite that nearly 6 PM time in DC. Both people took the spelling of my name and thanked me for calling. I hope this has some impact. I can't believe the arrogance of DeLay and the Repblicans. They need to be taken down. Didn't they take high school civics?

As per other comments here, Rep. Hastings office staff person did not ask for my name, etc., while Rep. Mollohan's staffer asked for name and state (PA). I had to stop both from ending the call so as to briefly elaborate on my message. Perhaps they didn't have a lot of time because they're being inundated with similar calls!? I hope so.

I'm from Georgia. I called Rep. Hastings Pasco, WA office and I also called his Washington DC office and I asked his aides at both offices to please urge Mr. Hastings to appoint a highly-qualified independent-minded outside counsel to investigate Tom Delay who has disobeyed the laws of our country. I also added he is ethically unfit to serve as the leader of the people's house. The aide was very courteous, but did not ask my name or what state I was from and I don't feel that she took the message down. I called Rep. Allan Mollohan's WVA office and left my name and phone # for them to call me on the message machine. Then, I called his Washington Office and told the aide the same thing I said to Rep. Hastings aide and she very courteously took my name and what state I was calling from.
